Want to get them painted black, with something that lasts.

I suck at painting. Probably not a good idea for me to do it.

It's pretty hard to screw up. Just have patience and spray light coats.

If I can do it, anyone can do it .

Just make sure you sand the HELL out of them before you paint them, otherwise the paint will chip off.

I recommend not doing it yourself if you're inexperienced and don't have a paint gun. A lot of people just do duplicolor and sure it looks great for a few months, but it will chip. Just look up a powdercoating shop or somethin.

I've heard that the powdercoating process can weaken alum wheels. I don't know for sure if thats true so you might want to ask around.

sand primer and spray. Grab an old deck of cards and stick em around the rim to protect your tires. If it chips you can always respray =) good luck.

Hm, haven't heard this. I don't really see how powdercoating an alum wheel can weaken it though.

sand blast it, then prime and hit with a good coat of an enamel paint. that should give you a durable finish

thanks for the advice, but does anyone know of a place that paints them instead of powdercoating?

Try wheel techniques, they might use paint instead of powdercoating if you ask them?

What a dissapointment, wheel techniques quoted me 125 or so per wheel. Lame, I Thought they powdercoated for like 150 bucks for 4 wheels. I was going to have them just do regular paint but im not trying to spend 500 bucks. Rather just get em powdercoated somewhere for 125, I know there are places. Any ideas/help?
