some times if you belong to a credit union they offer good rates, like patelco. I have no experience with a credit union but its worth a try.
Subaru itself has some pretty good rates that meet or beat credit union rates if you have a credit score of 700+

You might also PM member Salty. He sponsors the Suby Shopping sub-forum on i-Club and other members report being happy with the terms and deals he was able to come up with for their cars and other loans.

+1 Patelco. Very easy to work with.
Interest rates may vary depending on your FICA score (credit score). The lowest advertised rates are usually for those with "good" credit.

i got mine through TechCU, interest rates are actually kinda high right now, unless you are going through a dealer with a promotional APR (ie 2.9 through subaru), you likely wont see below 6% on new cars, 7% for used

This is very true. If your scores are good and you are thinking of 5-7 year loan I think it's almost always better deal to finance through dealer than go slightly used.
It's like this with cars, but especially with motorcycles, since they don't depreciate much in absolute value dealers can offer you crazy good incentive to buy new instead of used.

haha, we think alike. I had planned on paying off a motorcycle loan in 1.5 years. I applied for the 0 payments 0% interest for 6 months from the dealer, put 16k on the card, then after 6 months transfered the whole balance to a 0% 12 months deal.
...too bad I'll eventually run out of these introductory offer specials...
