One time my brother's friend brought back 50 lbs of Zippy's chili.

Bay Area L&L's are really inconsistent from branch to branch IMHO.
God I miss Hana Hou/Isuzu in S.F. Japantown. Anyone else remember that place?

theres a place in vallejo that i used to go to in high school but i dunno if its there anymore. they were a call ahead order place tho.

i just usually stock up on stuff when the aloha festival comes around and my friends are part of the local hawaiian society with dinners and luaus that i always make sure to grab extra from

Have you been there lately? After many many many years of loyal patronage my family stopped going there because in the last few years they went to crap. I dunno what happened. Unless they "got their act together" in the last 2 years.
After several visits on separate occasions about 3 years ago, we stopped going. =(

I like Ohana's sweet tonkatsu sauce instead of the traditional tangy kind that's normally found in Japanese cuisine. Ono Hawaiian also serves this kind. I love it. I also like having a spam musubi for lunch the next day.

Aloha festival??? Hah? Whoa... When is this? Have to check into that.
Yeah couple years ago we went out to HMB and saw this place, so we stopped by to get some food. I got the ono - my fav fish, and it was like... ono jerky? Nasty. That was the only time I have been out there. Then we went out to the HMB brewery and saw that Ono Hawaiian Grill was all closed up, so I guess they are gone now. Since my only experience was bad, I guess I am not too surprised cept my girl said she ate there on a family vacation once (from Sweden) years ago, so I guess this place has been around for years.
Either way I haven't been back home to the big island more than a year now and currently I am in Washington DC so DAAAAAAYM people stop talking about all this awesome food. Garrrans my first stop back home will be Hawaiian Drive Inn.

What I really want to know is where can I find a damn hot malasada around here. Is that too much to ask?
i was just about to post this.
its not bad for the money man... 6 bucks and more than you can eat worth of food.
Yeah there is L & L like people have said....
If you go up toward cupertino though, there's a bunch of imposted L&L places called "J & J hawaiian bbq"
which is EXACTLy like L & L, but cheaper.... yum.
