I'm pretty sure that one went out of business.

I definately second that. That place is great, is has a terrific atmosphere and great food. It's not that pricey ( http://www.basilleaf.com/dinner.html ) for the dinner menu. And it's located right in downtown so you can go for a nice walk afterwords too.

Basil Leaf is worth a first try, but I didn't think it was all that hot myself. I know alot of people that like it, though. And yes, most girls would like their downtown, it's like old downtown Pleasanton, but on a smaller scale.

If she's into the livelier atmosphere, 'The Crown' off of Hartz avenue in downtown Danville has live bands and good food every Friday night (about a block away from Basil Leaf, on the same street). When you cruise through Danville on the weekends at midnight, that is the only place down there that is still open and packed (besides the bar).

With that said. I never eat McDonald's without a clean restroom nearby...at least if I'm lazy and that's the closest place to get food and there's nothing in my fridge besides a can of tuna and milk, all the grocery stores are closed, even if I had groceries, my stoves, toaster oven, microwave don't work; the Jack in the Box, Subway, and anything else in the price range of $4-5 burns down or closes, yea, then I'll eat McDonald's.

I don't mind the chicken sandwiches though.

pleue I'd be interested to know the name of this place if you can find out. I haven't been able to find any good and reasonably priced sushi place since I moved to Pleasanton from San Jose last year. Thanks.
