That's only cause she was here when it was still PacBell. back then it was dope. Also sounds like she make a pretty big salery and puts a lot in it. No way I'd get that high with the way sbc does it in the next 22 years. The Stocks aren't worth crap anymore and they barely give any to people anymore. The company just sucks now. Your mom is lucky that she's got her 30 years and can retire right. I know a few people trying to get through their last few years. A guy with 6 left. Lady with 3. etc. People are RUNNING AWAY right now. 2 people from my department are gone tomorrow. 4 more looking for work. And that's out of 10 people in my office..haaa.
I know of one guy in our chicago office leaving in a couple weeks. one guy in the dallas office planning to leave. Etc. My department is getting terrible...as is the company. Partly because there is about to be no sbc...but you didn't here that from me.
it just sucks. Your mom is very likely to recieve her please retire now offer pretty soon here. Soon as this merger stuff goes on. Where does she work? what does she do. Wonder if I've ever worked with her.
yeah the benefits and 401k have been awesome...but they're not as good as they were when your mom was with PacBell.....pacbell was dope.
