Where do you change your oil?
Where do you change your oil?
I moved into an apartment where they don't allow you to change oil in your spots. Makes sense.
Anyway, now I am left with public land to change oil at. There is a grocery store nearby that closed but left a parking lot... I haven't used it yet but it is temping.
Where do you guys change your oil at? Is there a good public place to do it and be legal/etc? I don't want to take it to jiffy lube because I have the tools and it is so easy to do myself.

you could always change it at the parking lot of where you buy your oil.
as long as you dispose of it in an organized manner, i dont see a problem.
i do not condone nor take any legal responsibility for the above 'answer' to your question.

I live in an apartment complex that doesn't allow working on cars. That said, I change my oil almost monthly, and I've had the thing up on four jackstands with no wheels on it for half of a saturday. Helps to be a smiling, friendly guy and chat up the old *** security guards.
And don't spill oil.

well, being friendly and nice to the security guard always helps out a lot. In fact, being nice to people helps in general. Anyhow, for the not spilling oil part, it's kinda hard cuz no one is perfect and everyone is bound to spill every now and then. A very helpful tip is take a cardboard box and slice it open so it's just 1 sheet of cardboard and lay that on the ground and then work on the car.

Mexicanpizza and I apparently live in very similar complexes
. Up on four jackstands for half of Saturday...wait...all day Saturday...
I'm super friendly with the apartment manager, and she doesn't care as long as the building owner people aren't there. Oil changes don't even count

I just roll the front wheels up on a 2x6 and you can reach everything you need. Unless someone was actually paying attention, they'd never notice. By the time you pop the hood to add oil, you're already done
Hahaha, that sucks dood.
Just change your oil in your spot. Maybe keep around some de-greaser incase you do spill a bit. I don't see why they'd get angry if you cleaned up your own mess.
