Just wondering if anyone here know where I can buy a decent datsun? I'm in look out for a datsun, espcially 240z (pre 1975) with RB series (skyline engine) or sr20 engines. No rust. I have wrx and 350z. I want old Z too into my collection. Want to modify without dealing with smog and state referee.

sold for $4000, so he lost a few bucks...it was a phase for him...he had a 62 Triumph Herald with fins, sold it and regreted it so he thought the datsun would cure it but no.

He's a car guy, but he's more of a cruiser and not into racing around. Even though his newest project is a late 30's Ford Coupe with a Chevy 400/ Camaro 6 speed lol

 

This is my other buddies 510...he bought it from a grandma for like $100 when he was 10...before he even knew what the car was lol. I dare you to rip it from his dieing hands maybe he'd sell it for $5 or 6K lol

thats the sickest 510 -- i was going to buy one with the money i had earned as a bicycle mechanic my sophomore year in highschool. my parents forebid it, and i ended up buying a 95 m3 some years later. the m3 wasnt a bad buy as it ended up appreciating in value, but i still kick myself for not buying the dime!

 

my dad is trying to sell his red 240z w/ a v8 swap done to it. If you're interested i can give you his email but i don't really know the details about the car.

 

i have a buddy with a v8 swap trying to sell too
its got a stroked 383 chevy with some beefed up tranny and rear end, 750 carb, widebody fiberglass fenders and something like 20" wide rear tires. its not a garage queen, but the bumblebee yellow with black hood looks nice (krylon special). this is easily the most powerful car i have ever driven, probably north of 400hp with the flattest power curve. this thing pulls past his moms 911 like its nothing. it idles a little rough just like any other v8 with a radical cam. if you are interested let me know, because he is trying to sell it before he leaves for college. i think he wants something in the ball park of 9k

I want a weekend car, that I can drop japanese engine like rb26 turbo - so, I can modify as I wish, without CHP or State looking over.

Tired of being pulled over in WRX. Converted to smog legal. Only exterior and suspension mods remain - except for carb intake and catback hush. So slow. But good for DD, family transportation, and it sips gas now!

Was planing to modify the Z, but because of above experience - I don't want to deal with it anymore. Might as well sell it or trade in for something else.

 

That's hot. Does he want to sell it? What engine is he runing? I prefer modern japanese engine rather american V8, SR20 turbo?
As for previous sell from your freind, I should have got it. Didn't have fund back then - was buying a house instead.

 

Yeah, you are very right. Hard to find that has no rust or restored body. Don't care no engine or pos engine - as long has it has good body. Droping an engine is much easier than cleaning up rusts.
