Where to buy Team Dynamics wheels in bay area?

Hey all, to start off with I know I'm new to the forum, but I'm not new to the subie world. Some of you may have already spotted me in the area, I'm pretty sure I'm the only one in the area with VA plates on my car. So if you see an 07 CGM WRX with VA plates, mud flaps, and a rear limited wing in the area that would be me.

I've been looking around the area trying to find someone who sells Team Dynamics wheels around here such that I can just pick them up from instead of paying a lot for shipment. Specifically I'm looking for the Team Dynamics Pro Rally 1 wheels to run gravel/rally tires on. As of now I have had no luck. The best deal I've run across is Team Illuminata at 165 a wheel and free shipment. That is about to end and I don't have the money just yet to purchase them on top of them being across the country.

I would be willing consider other rally wheels too if they clear the 4pots and can run a 15" rally tire if local dealers can get them.

So can anyone point me in the right direction?

i would try giving aim tire a call. they carry the team dynamics spec miata wheel, and may be able to source the gravel ones.

Kyle, this is why AIM is a RACE TIRE SHOP... Rs2 is a street tire.

sux about the wheels

glenspen's are the Enkei RC-T4 tarmac wheels.

If you want the Rally/Gravel setup, I can get you the Enkei RC-G4 Gravel wheels.

However they will take 6-9 weeks from Japan.

Ron Cortez DOES know it all- the man DEFINITELY knows his stuff when it comes to setting up a race car in terms of suspension and tires. People buying street tires and specialty rims are not his main business. He supports NASCAR, SCCA, NASA, etc. and people who buy race tires in bulk. He will order street tires if you need but he doesn't want to deal with people kicking tires (literally) since he has a lot more money to make elsewhere. Hence... you need to tell him what you want, and when you want it, and he will make it happen. Many BAIC members have gone to him for tire shaving to match their other 3 tires when they get an unrepairable flat, etc. and they've been happy... so maybe you just caught him when he was late loading up his trailers to tow out to Thunderhill or Laguna for a race weekend.

I haven't called them yet, but AIM looks like the place I'm gonna go through. If he is like that wanting to sell what the customer wants then he might be happy since I have a buddy who wants a set also. I'll see about giving them a call on Monday when I get back to Alameda.

As much as I like the Enkeis if I can get the Team Dynamics I will get them, I just like em a heck of a lot more. Wait time isn't a concern as long as delivery time can be flexible as I'm military and have deployments. My boat normally is deployed for 2 months, and then in for 2 months, then back out etc.

i know, AIM's cool if your loaded with money for race tires...in the meantime if someone wants performance "autoX" grade tires that will last 20K miles, you have to order from Edge Racing in Miami which is the coolest place i think for tiresw and pricing.

You know Edge racing in FL charges $60-$70 for shipping? and if you live near them you can pick up your tires for FREE?! Yeah thats why i think AIM needs to expand so i dont have to pay shipping!

Theres no Tire shop around here where you can do that: when an EDGE AutoX tire is $60, its $90 all around the bay...and the funny thing is that the tires are shipped from Asia, they fly over CA over to Florida only to waste more money to send them back to CA

Theres a TireRack in NV but shipping is still $40 and the tires are HELLA $$$

i just dont know why there isnt a nice tire shop in the bay, and im sure there is one, but i dont know about it.

Edge Racing is cool. Also check out Joe from TheTireShoppe.com. His listed prices for Hankook R-S2's is cheaper than Edgeracing. $60 each in miata sizes-I got the whole set for $82 shipped after using $200 worth of contingency money I won racing on Hankook slicks.
