The little plastic ring between hub and wheel

I just found out that last time when I brought my car to sears to patch my nailed tire, those idiots lost one of the little plastic spacer ring that is placed between the wheel hub and the wheel.(I don't know what it is called, hubcentric spacer or something) Now I am running only 3 of them. I mean the wheel stays on fine, but does it matter? should I get one? What size should I get?

(edit: I just saw them on ebay)

do u think they will fit my 17' gram lights?

Also, one of my bleeder valve's rubber dust cap broke. Anybody know where I can buy one locally in sf?

These spacers, all they do is make your wheel hubcentric instead of lugcentric. Hubcentric makes it so your wheel sits on the hub and is easier to bolt on and torque. Lugcentric sits on the lugs and you have to hold the wheel up and center each lug in the wheel so it will bolt on correctly. All this does is try to "convert" your center part of the wheel into the same size of your hub.

IIRC technically you don't even need these kind of spacers since most of the time, tire shops just chuck them because they're so pointless.

As for your bleeder valve, do you mean the valve that allows air into your tires? If it's then your local tire shop should be able to just give you one for free.

You can pick up the hub centric rings at Auto Innovations. You would need to measure the inside hub bore of your wheel and then get whatever that size is > 56.1 which is the subaru hub bore size. Hub rings are super cheap, usually about $5 a piece.

Thanks guys!

I measured (with my ruler....lol) and searched for a while on the web and figured out that it is a 56.1mm inner and 65mm outer diameter hubcentric ring. However, I couldn't find any 65mm O.D. rings online because they are rare for some reason...(although most Volks/Rays wheels are with 65mm O.D.)

Maybe I should contact A.I. and check to see if they have any lying around?

no they don't come on stock cars. They're used for aftermarket wheels for companies who want to save money and not made different hub holes for their wheels with the same lug pattern.

I recently got my front right hub and bearing changed. You can use the OEM hub ring. Probably like ten bucks from subaru dealer?
