where to buy....

anybody know where i can rent or buy a cheap db tester?
im kind of freaking about my car being too loud for laguna lol

ive got 2 different silencers and a ghetto rigged heater duct

i wanna see how big of a difference it made lol

if ur worried go to hollister hills and they will do ur sound test there

if it seems loud it might just be for laguna. maybe chance it and try a state agency? I know the state parks have DB meters for the dirt bikes. And if your nice the ranger might do it for free. just a long shot thought. i put my stock exhaust on. and will never go to that track again.

dude,

i got a radio shack SPL meter.

i'm in hayward/fremont.

i kinda know how the SAE J1164 (IIRC) lol...

that's how CARB tests the loudness of of exhausts:

spl meter is 20 inches away, while at a 45 degrees towards the end of the exhaust. also, the spl meter is raised on an 8" platform, off the ground.

meter is set to C...

engine is revved to 75% of max horsepower.

pass is 95dB or less.

edit: it's SAE J1169...

thanks blue...(he's the only one on here thats heard my car lol)

i don't think im going to drive out to hollister or carnegie today since the track day is tomorrow and im getting a 100 octane tune in....1 hour lol

ill just bring what i have and hope for the best

ps ill stop at radio shack too lol
