If I am WAY off then all you experts please say so but here's my theory-

I have an 02 Rex also, and when my car was stock (I have the stock boost gauge), if I floored it, the boost would only go up to like .07 MPA in 4th gear. Alot of people I hear of, say that there boost hits .1MPA in 4th.
Since you are saying that sometimes your car pulls harder than others my guess is that your factory solenoids which control the boost pressure could maybe be leaking? Answer, buy a Manual Boost Controller (only if you have a boost gauge though!)In your case, I believe if you search under other threads, it says that you can buy different hoses to replace the ones you have on the car right now which are controlling the boost pressure. This way you wont be getting any pressure leaks from the crappy stock hoses. there are tons of threads out there showing how to do this minor install.
-Good luck

get the factory boost gauge (can buy used in private for sale forums for pretty darn cheap)
hook it up
see what is says

bring it to the dealer, tell them something is wrong
do not tell them you are dragging it :P

1) don't get the factory one. Get some nice aftermarket ones. Defi/HKS/Greddy/Blitz (not autometer)

2) It's your wheels... they must wieght like, 20 lbs? Get some lighter wheels. Are they chrome by any chance?

I bet you it is probably the wheels. Especially runnin' on 18's.. I know a lot of ricers who run on 18, and then swap back to like 15/16's for the track with slicks. But you are an AWD car, so slicks really doesn't matter. But the extra few inches makes the car wheels spin slower. The weight also might be a factor as Gagan pointed out.

listen, you can have 18s, but only light ones won't slow you down, and they're expensive...go price some Volks...

The 18s I want cost $500+ per wheel...

another thing is the tire DIAMETER, which could throw off your gearing.

are they close to the diameter of the stock tires?
