To make a long story short, I get a free PS3 game of my choice (doesn't have to be PS3, could be game cube, wii, 360, but I have a PS3).
I love games like Zelda and really enjoy shooters like Hitman (Shooters that require a lot of strategy and are pretty realistic). I also love racing games and have Gran Turismo (the little version)
I have Assassin's Creed 1 and 2 and they are ok... I would def want somethig more enjoyable.
To all the video game heads out there, what are some great games for the PS3 out right now? Is GT5 going to come out any time soon?
Let me know because the deadline to order it is next week sometime. Thanks brotha's and sisters.

I usually rent single player games cause i only play them once. So I would go for Call of Duty 4 MW2. Uncharted 2 is awesome!!!! better than god of war in my opinion. FF13 was alright, bioshock was pretty good too =). hope that helps.
If you like soccer, FIFA10 and FIFA World Cup are both good. I can't stop playing them.
Dirt 2 is still good to me.
I've given up checking when GT5 will come out. I'll just wait for it.
I want to get CODMW but I just have too many games going!

I'd say....
GOW3----Extreme win
Uncharted 1&2----Awesome game
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2----Addicting, especially online
Battlefield: Bad Company 2----Different feel than MW2 but I love it
Heavy Rain----Great story and very interactive, definitely a different feel than other games
Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising----About the most realistic FPS your going to come across

Red Dead Redemption looks very good, although I may pass on it because I never finish open-world games hahaha I get distracted by the billion other things you can do in the game.

GT5 still isnt going to be out for a while, Polyphony is looking at sometime near the end of the year. Split/Second comes out this week or today I think, racing game with a lot of destructible/interactive environment elements. Red Dead Redemption comes out today too I think, you've probably seen commercials for it. Wild West open-world sandbox game like GTA III/IV, the multiplayer also features the same open world and features a leveling-up system to get better guns, equips and mounts like donkeys and horses. At first I wasn't considering it but I may pick it up after watching a youtube video of the multiplayer aspect
My personal favorites that might interest you:
Heavy Rain : choose your own adventure-ish interactive drama thriller. Kinda slow paced but if you want a decent interactive story, there ya go. Might wanna consider the demo to get a feel for it.
Bayonetta : over-the-top fast pace action game with an equally rediculous story that features two pistols in your hands and 2 on your heels, swords, bazooka tonfa, ice skates, and summoning giant demons made from your hair to crush/maim/devour angels. Again, there's a demo for it, give it a try.
Valkyria Chronicles : Strategy RPG with a decent story. If you're not into the anime art style this won't be for you. Alternate universe WWII era war game that lets you field a squad of foot soldiers, snipers, engineers, artillery and tanks. Demo on psn for this as well.
I can't personally recommend Final Fantasy XIII cause I don't know your taste in games. If you like pretty pictures and can tough it out through a linear 15-30 hour gameplay tutorial, the game gets good.
