Placebo gas factor says the car likes 76 and Chevron. It does not like no-name gas stations, thats for sure.

I aim for 76 mostly because I read thread where someone datalogged different brands and supposedly 76 had the most effective octane....

cheapest gas that doesn't ping is the best gas for me...

Though I usually look for 76 first.

I used 76 gas until one day I needed to fill up and put chevron in, call me crazy but I could feel the difference with the chevron gas. My wrx seems to like chevron over 76.

I've tried most of them and 76 seems to be the happiest for my tune(it was what it was tuned for last time as well). I used to be a chevron addict and wouldn't bat an eye at anything else, but with the wagon it really does seem to like 76. I tried costco and it wasn't very happy with that. My wife drove my car and filled it up at costco not thinking much and when she brought it back complained that it was idling funny. I made sure she put in 91 and verified on the receipt and sure enough it was 91. I went outside and drove it, very first WOT I got ping ting Oh NOES, so I went to the closest kragen and picked up some NOS octane booster and it made the rest of the tank ok. Filled her up with 76 the next time around and the beast was happy again.

+1 for 76.
I've had problem before with Shell gas. It just doesn't make my car run right and it gave me rough idle on my stock ej20.

the best gas is the one you don't smell X_X

I get gassy when i drink too much milk

One thing I dont like about Cali is that they only run 91 octane. I miss the 93 octane I used to get on the East Coast.
I think 76 is good and Chevron is pretty good.
