What're good and romantic type resturants in the bay area?
I'm not one to eat out at too many fancy places all the time, so i don't really know of many good resturants around. Ok well, i wanna take my girlfriend to a romantic resturant this weekend. So could you guys recommend any good places in the bay area that i could take her to?
Thanks in advance,
-Paul (your friendly neighborhood RS-T)

La Hacienda is a great place to go too. a little expensive...but it is worth it.
Also, check it out. http://www.shadowbrook-capitola.com/ You can make reservations to eat outside next to the little creek. They have outside heaters, music, dim lighting. It is perfect.
I went there on a 1yr. Anniversary. PERFECT!!!
Hope this help.

La Fondue isn't good. I ate there.. paid about $50 per person and I wasn't full nor did it taste super good.
1) Equinox in SF is nice, but $$$.
2) Pagoda in Downtown SJ looks fancy. Dark, upscale chinese/thai dining.
3) Bua Thai in Milpitas. More homey decor. Nice lighting and cheaper, good homestyle food.
4) Don Giovanni's in Mountain View. <--- I work there! Good Italian food. Dark, quiet settings.
5) WaterFront Cafe, SF. Get the outdoor patio for the nice Xmas lighting effect.
6) Il Fornaio, SF. Nice patio view of the bay.
7) Forbes Island, SF. Restaurant on an island. You have to take a boat to get there. Food is okay, pasta and seafood. Front view of Pier 39 harbor seals.
8) ??? forgot the restaurant, but its up on the way to James Lick Observatory, in Alum Rock. Best view of any restaurant. Overlooks the entire south bay. Great night spot.
there's more.. i just need to remember or eat out more.

If you're coming to SF, I'm a manager at Bix Restaurant. Intimate space with live Jazz every night. PM me if you want me to hook you up. Check us out at www.bixrestaurant.com BTW, one of the best dinners in town!

I've eaten at LaFondue about a half dozen times, and every time I go I wonder why people make a big fuss about it. I don't find it worth the time, hassle, or expense, but hey, if you like it knock yerself out...
Another great place to go in the southbay is the Cats restaurant off Highway 17 just south of Los Gatos. Try the lamb chops.
