As soon as I crossed over 580 around 9-10PM, the traffic STOPPED! literally, inching ahead for like 10 miles! I ended up getting off at Sunol and bypassed it all...but could see like 4 fire trucks, a crapload of po-po's, a bunch of (what looked like) construction lighting all pointing off the side of the freeway down into the gully where I was driving, there was also one of those trucks that have the Railroad wheels on the front and back sitting on the train tracks with all its lights on too. It even looked like up on the road, they had those lighted signs telling people to merge left....All I could think was WTF is going on?! I couldnt see any accident, but then again I couldnt really see through the trees. Anyone hear of anything about it? The freeway was literally a parking lot for miles.

it was all over the news last night, truck rolled, caught fire, caught a brush fire, etc. and all that equaled major traffic.

 

yea, something about a truck driving off the freeway and causing a fire. I didn't see the fire but I saw the top corner of the truck.

Dam that guy for backing up traffic and preventing me from watching family guy.

I heard on the radio it was a homicide investigation.

I got stuck in that ****ing traffic too. decided to get off 2 exits after 580 and took foothill down to 84 which cleared up. Wish I took that first exit.

 

i was in the area too. yup, somebody drove off the road.

 

I wasn't there, but somebody drove off the road and died.

that's la traffic everyday...

I was stuck in that Traffic from San Ramon to the accident. It took exactly an hour to get through pleasanton/sunol.

 

i read my friend's xanga, and she wrote this.

"drove back on sunday where i saw an accident happen on 680 on the other side. a car on the fast lane drove right into the median less than 25 yards in front of me (i was on the fast line in the opposite direction) and i swear i thought the car was gonna go right through the median into my line. that was serious scary *** ****. i found out later that the driver died. a very sad thing"

must be the same thing you guys are talking about.

 

There was traffic in Seattle last night too, probably unrelated.
