What tracks are there in NorCal?
I might be stopping by to see my friend who lives in Newark around March/April on a permanent change of station move from Hawaii enroute to Georgia. Might is the key word; for those of you familiar with what 'stop loss/stop move' means to a soldier.
(The other alternative, which actually looks more like it's going to happen is Hawaii enroute to Baghram to be a staff dick.
)
Anyhow, whether it happens in March or a year from March, I will be stopping by for a week or so.
I've heard of Sears Point, and was actually stationed next to Laguna Seca for 4 years (well before I knew anything or cared about autoracing. Ironically, I even worked at LS as a security guard for that antique car race they have there). I don't know of any 1/4 mi. dragstrips.
Sorry for the long winded question, but in a round about sort've way, I'm asking if anyone would mind if I met them at a track (whenever the time comes). Unfortunately, my car will be in transit...hmmm, unless I only had them ship it to LA. Now that's a thought.
Thanks

I'm sure some of us could meet you (I could, depending on the timeframe) at a local track. We've got that Buttonwillow i-Club event this coming March...
Buttonwillow Raceway. Road course, only.
Laguna Seca, which you're already familiar with. Road course, only.
Sacramento Raceway. 1/4-mile drag strip, only. Weekly drag nights during warmer months.
Sears Point, which is now called Infineon Raceway by some. Both road course and 1/4-mile drag strip. Weekly drag nights during warmer months.
Thunderhill Park. Road course, only.

Yeah, I want to see how it would do in the land of gorgeous racetracks. I bet y'all even have 'time boards' up at the end of the 1/4 mi, as opposed to some big, lighted arrows that only show who the winner is.
The trade off is that I'd then be driving cross country, which really sounds appetizing; but then my 2002 w/ 14k miles on it would have 17k mi. on it.
I think I'm leaning towards shipping it to LA.

By the way, thanks for the review of the Stromung. I made the right choice.
