How about a 9.5" long by 2"OD piece of "vespal" from dupont. It's some sort of high temp plastic. Order is for 10 parts and the boss man ordered enough for...... 10 parts. I guess he has faith in me lol. So at $184 an inch let's hope I don't make too much scrap.
Been on the lathes for the last 2 months since they are slammed. Were a little low on mill work at the moment but judging by incoming material I should be back home in no time.

Yeah what do you do? I love working on a lathe so oddly enough I'm really interested in that stuff. What is to become of it?
oh and of course... GOOD LUCK!

"isolator. High vacuum cap" it's for a local military contractor that does a lot of stuff with jamming equipment in the noses of drones. Kinda looks like a pulley I guess. I'd post a pic but there's crap all over the print about being proprietary and sensitive. They deliver the prints by hand as opposed to faxing and we have to sign stuff blahh blahh blahh
TOM: That, that's right.
BOB PORTER: Well, then I gotta ask, then why can't the customers just take the specifications directly to the software people, huh?
TOM: Well, uh, uh, uh, because, uh, engineers are not good at dealing with customers.
BOB SLYDELL: You physically take the specs from the customer?
TOM: Well, no, my, my secretary does that, or, or the fax.
BOB SLYDELL: Ah.
BOB PORTER: Then you must physically bring them to the software people.
TOM: Well...no. Yeah, I mean, sometimes.
BOB SLYDELL: Well, what would you say… you do here?
TOM: Well, look, I already told you. I deal with the goddamn customers so the engineers don't have to!! I have people skills!! I am good at dealing with people!!! Can't you understand that?!? WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?!!!!!!!
