what do you use to wash dity pipes?

Cause I'm going to be drilling and tapping to install an EGT probe, don't want the metal shavings to get sucked into the turbo.

Drain cleaner?

It is pretty common to drill the header while the car is idling with the manifold on the car. The **** will just throught the hot side of the turbo and get out through the exhaust. It is not going to go into the engine or the oil system. Plus, most of the shavings fall outside and only the last bit falls in. That is how I did mine many many times and never had a problem.

P.S. This is not good to do if you have cats as the **** will get stuck in them.

Like I said, I did it on my car.

That is old school consensus from my DSM days.

If your doing it on jack stands you may not have the room to drill so just drop the manifold and drill it off the car and then fire air through it. Should take you about an hour all told.

Although nothing wrong with doing it the way Alex mentioned above.

i would prefer to take the manifold off the car to do it.. turbines arent meant to have metal bits pushing it.. just nasty air

Anyone suggest a shop who can tap my manifold? I have no problems removing it from my car and bringing it there for tapage.
