I guess they do good work from what I hear (from other people) from their website.
I was thinking about the space thing... I was going to ask the artist about that... He'll probably space it out a tad more.
And if EGELHOFER isn't a German last name, I don't know what the hell is! lol

Haha.. That's an awesome design and I completely agree with OneManArmy - tats are very personal and no one can tell you any different. If it means something to you, it rocks.

If you haven't left yet.
If it's Devon (devron) that's doing it. Tell him Ray from Fremont says what's up. Tell him I said to do it up right. He's easy to find...big *** moth tattoo'd on his throat.

I have wanted some bad *** tattoos myself, but can't think of anything that has meaning accept bible scriptures that have helped me, and I want graphics. =)
EDIT:
In Santa Cruz there is StairCase Tattoo on Ocean St. , F U Tattoo on Capitola Road, and True Art on Soquel Dr.
These are the places I recommend in SC.

nice..nice. Staircase pisses me off. Twice I've gone in there for jewelry. Both times asked them to put my plugs in...too damned lazy. I went to Mom's in S.F. took the guy seriously ...less than 2 minutes to do it. They were just a bit too big for me to get in...he didn't even have to use a taper. I ended up busting one of my sets of plugs because of that. I don't dig that place to much. They've done the same crap to several people I know.
FU Tattoo. Great great artists out of that place. But if it's not something custom or something they want to do...sometimes they aren't the coolest guys around. Same with True Art. But quality wise....those two places rip. Flip and Klem out of True Art are sick. Klem used to sling out of Marks of Art back in the day. So good..and ryan digs the patriotic stuff. Out of FU tattoo. mickie in FU is one of the best around.
It sounds like you have a firm conviction behind the tattoo and that's definitely the only reason to get one, I say go for it but give it a couple weeks in case you come up with additions or changes.

Alright, I went in and got it done. Its f'in big. The guy (Dan) did a GREAT job... one hell of an artist. I spent 4 hours under the needle, and still Im not done. I have to go back in like a month and finish it (Need to color in the body, head, and very top of the wings). Other than that, its done.

Just a camera phone pic that my friend has... I'll take some pics later on when it heals a little. Its a little bloody and raw at the moment. Looks great however!
4 hours and you have to go back...man that must of been an expensive piece? I recall my last small tattoos costing me quite a bit.
Can't wait to see the pics. Must be a PITA to apply Lubriderm on that that yourself?

Get some hot girl to rub it on for you. That's what I did when I got mine. That whole caretaker instinct kicks in and before you know it they're taking care of you in other ways, if you know what I mean. ;
