What cool stuff is around your house?

I have been looking into a few things around my area for photos.
And I came across the mothball fleet out in the delta. Which is losing ships each month.

So I started to look at things with Google earth. I have always had a feeling there was some cool stuff out there. I mean there was the Glomar Explorer. That alone was really cool. Here the CIA goes out and recover a sunk USSR nuke sub. And uses the Glomar to grab it and bring it back here in a sunkin barge.

Anyone that is over 25 years old might have remembered it. It was the lone ship parked right off the Martinez bridge. Then all the other ships used to be parked right behind it.







Ok so that was cool But after going and looking up the info on the barge. Its name was Hughes mining barge. And its still parked out there. Its never been open so I figured that something had to be inside it. And sure enough there is. The Sea Shadow is parked in there. I always figured it was a submarine or something.

So sitting out in the delta in this barge is this stealth boat that was built by DARPA and Lockheed.

I live directly across the street from Folsom state prison. The Folsom power house is about a half mile away and was built in the 1890's.
