find a place that powdercoats, choose an easy color, black white silver etc. and ask what it costs to just add it to the batch that will be painted.
I know a guy that would throw in a set of rims for free if the are using a color i wanted, its not that inconvenient when you add 4 wheels to 100 other items being painted

In order for the powdercoating to stick properly to alloy wheels, you have to strip them down to bare metal first. Did you already have yours stripped or did he throw that in for free as well?
Proper preparation is the key to not having a powdercoat job turn out like ***. Expect to pay $300-$400 for a quality job (all 4 wheels).

Glad you chimed in Egan..

Oh, and with non factory powdercoated wheels, don't use em' for rally-x's or auto crossing. They tend to be more brittle after being powdercoated.. I've seen nice brembo/baer brakes get scraped up from the wheels tweaking.. Just what I've seen at past track meets or autocrosses..

wheel techniques is expensive. they are specialists though, but for a simple job, just go to a good pc place. i took my enkeis to component finishing in santa clara, 70/wheel in my choice of color including stripping. the coating they use is very very good and the guys are nice. they definitely know what theyre doing.

well its a given that if youre getting something painted for free, or thrown into the assembly line, that you better bet you have to do the dirty work of sanding or blasting.
