Holy hell Ed. I just heard the news. I was in D-town for some work on Thursday too. I should have rolled out to Novato with you....

Damn. Sorry to hear about everything. Glad you're okay man. Don't take any of the bull***t to heart man. I don't understand why some people feel the urge to get on a soap box when something like this happens.

At least let the guy heal first before you attack him. Keep opinions to yourself until the dust settles, and just be thankful he's alive.

Hey Ed hit me up next time you're out here, we'll pour a little out for the suby.

Joe

Whether or not he is breaking the law to conduct business (which I see no evidence of - he claims to have a business license and he isn't the one speeding) is completely irrelevant to your being an *** in a thread about him wrecking his car. They are unrelated. I'd suggest you start a thread of your own about Ed's tuning techniques, but the moderators have already made it clear what they think about that discussion.

So, how about you either leave the conversation if you don't have anything to say thats on topic and not dickheaded? Or I guess you can continue to be an idiot and display your non-highschool (which just makes it sadder) immaturity.

If only iclub had a killfile.

As I posted earlier, most of the road tuning is done in 3rd gear. I also posted that all of my customers have the option of dyno tuning if they don't feel comfortable with road tuning. Anything else you'd like spelled out or re-iterated?

This may be a stupid suggestion, but if you look at the car again...look at the mounting of the tires.

I only say this because I have had experience with shops not paying attention to the directional patterns of the tire. Ones that were clearly marked which way the tires were supposed to rotate when going forward, but being mounted backwards.

May also add to the situation leading to your accident. Keep us posted as to what you find out.

Mounting of directional tires has very little to do with traction. The only thing directional has to do with is water displacement. If it was mounted backwards, then the water would be drawn into the middle of the tire instead of it going from the middle to the sidewalls and pushed away.

I believe Ed did say it was a basically dry road, so I do not believe that would be the case.

As for the "illegal" crap that SnoHumper is stating. There have already been discussions in this very thread about "illegal" procedure Ed uses, only to be shot down by how changing ECUs are "illegal" or using off road parts only on your PUBLIC roads, which doesn't really need to be brought up again.

changing ECU's and having off road parts on your car doesn't put anyone else in danger. there is a reason for speed limits, i think people should stick to them.

if i understand correctly, you are saying that speeding is okay because people have off roading parts on their cars?

You actually have a license?? With your second grade reading comprehension??

Or are you just being an a**hole on purpose?? I think you need to go see the wizard, scarecrow!!

^^If the above reference escapes you, watch "The Wizard of Oz"...since I'm sure you don't have the intelligence to read the book.

Then don't do business with him....

You don't break any laws?
You always stay under the speed limit?
You always come to a complete stop?
You never exceed 5 mph in a parking lot?
You never turn right on red from the left hand right turn lane? ***
You never cut anyone off on the freeway?
You always turn into the far right lane when turning right? ***

I find it hard to believe that you never violate at least some of the rules of the road that I posted. If you don't then more power to you, but pretty much everyone else on the board does, so take it easy.

to understeer or break the tires loose, you need to be turning pretty hard. a gentle swerve will not send u into a slide no matter how ****ty the tires may be. if u were turning very slightly and suddently the car steers a lot, then perhaps ur tie rod or some suspension component broke. also when u said u were taking that first gradual turn and you understeered, you once again need to be going fast, or this is a very SHARP hairpin like turn. did it actually lose control and slide the front tires on this turn, or was this just a feeling of understeer where you normally expected the car to handle at that speed?

the road doesnt' sound technical enough to mess up on. this sounds more of a equipment failure unless you were going faster than you claim. 3 flips in teh air is pretty wild.. dats all i got to say to that.

Alex - I have a feature request, and I could even help code it. Make an option for logged in users to meta-moderate like on slashdot.org, so frequent users can +1 or -1 retarded posts or users. and if people choose to not view -1 posts, then we do not have to see the BS they post, but still is there for the rest of the world to see.
Go to your User Control Panel. Left margin near bottom has link to Buddy/Ignore Lists. Buddy List does not work on this board but the Ignore List does.

I just noticed that the original claim was three rolls, at least two being end-over-end.

When I wrecked at 50, I rolled laterally, not end-over-end.

That said, it's hard to know exactly what's going on when you're wrecking, so it's possible that in the chaos of the moment some details got mixed up. I know I felt like I'd rolled 100 times.
