Welding in the East Bay.

Hey guys. I smashed the exhaust on my girlfriend's brother's s2k and was wondering if anyone could help me weld new mufflers on for small fee or 12 pack of beer or something. Just let me know! Thanks!

I'm probably farther than you want to drive, I have a MIG/ gas setup at my house if Fairfield. I am only a hobbyist welder though.

I mainly bought it to spot weld new quarter panels on my chevelle project. It's brand new and works awesome, but I would hate to screw something up of someone Else's. Do you know anyone who is good at welding that you could bring along? What has to be welded, two equal diameter pipes together? Does anything have to be cut?

I have my subie up on all 4 of my jack stands right now, taking out the 5 speed for something stronger. Would the back of the car have to be lifted and supported to get to the muffler?

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to see what we would be in for.

I've welded a couple roll cages, but wouldn't touch an exhaust. To easy to burn through for my inexperienced hands. Try Mel & Sons in Concord for a clean install. Have done three exhausts for me and I don't think they would charge much to weld in a muffler.
