Website to find how many points a moving violation carries?

So I know we've got some well informed people hanging out around here and I was wondering if any of you knew of a website that would tell me how many points the DMV and/or my insurance company are going to put on my record for a couple of violations. They are odd ones. One is VC 22106 and the other is VC 21658A. It basically boils down to an unsafe start and an unsafe lane change. Bonus points to anyone who can figure out what the police officer has *accused* me of doing.

Anyway, if anyone knows of such a website, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

google is your friend:

http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/calaw.html

22106. No person shall start a vehicle stopped, standing, or parked
on a highway, nor shall any person back a vehicle on a highway until
such movement can be made with reasonable safety.

21658. Whenever any roadway has been divided into two or more
clearly marked lanes for traffic in one direction, the following
rules apply:
(a) A vehicle shall be driven as nearly as practical entirely
within a single lane and shall not be moved from the lane until such
movement can be made with reasonable safety.

sonicsuby, I didn't DO anything dammit! I have been accused however of starting from a stoplight in the left turn lane, and throwing the car sideways once over the somewhat steep crown of the road. The road was completely clear aside from the officer at the next stop light a little ways down who flipped a U turn. His first words to me... "Well that was special." Might as well have put a stamp that said dumbass on my head. Might as well also put a stamp that says dumbass on the head of anyone considering scolding me for this.

It's all accusations anyway. I maintain that it happened very differently.

ldivinag - thanks for the link, but that's not what I was looking for. That info can be found on the dmv.ca.gov site. What I was looking for was how many points will go on my record, should I be found guilty. What matters the most is how many points go onto my driving record with the insurance company, since they're already ****ing me quite hard.

Anyone else?

I think the answer to your question is 1 point per infraction. Neither of those qualifies as reckless driving.

Thanks sonic... I think you're probably right; however I had heard something about certain infractions not carrying any points at all from a DMV worker. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and call my insurance company to see how badly I'm going to get screwed by them now.

Well, correctable violations (no registration, headlight out, etc) don't carry any points generally. I would call DMV, NOT my insurance company if I had questions about that.

Can you take traffic school? If so, DO IT.

Good luck, man.

It should be one point for each moving violation since neither of them are misdemeanors. 2 points

Thanks for the response guys. A lady from the court yesterday said that I won't be elligible for court because it was two infractions on one ticket. I suppose I'll just fight it by mail as the ticketassasin suggests, and if I lose, try and take traffic school anyways. According to the ticketassasin, you can usually get traffic school anyway, simply because it puts a bit more money in the counties pocket.
