weather report/Mines Rd/SRT-4
I'm planning a drive thru Mines Rd through to Mt Hamilton tomorrow morning.........anybody been up there lately? SNOW/ICE?
My thoughts on the SRT-4: I think it's funny how obviously Chrysler has 'mocked' cars like the WRX and Evo. Maybe the SRT has big HP, but I think it's still a coarse, cheesy Chrysler product, like the Viper and like the old Omni GLH. Sure, they had lots of axle-twisting power, but the overall package suffers.
I've driven a number of Vipers, one with over 600 flywheel hp (motor from CDI in Carlsbad). They leap forward with tons of furious torque, but what do you expect from 8.0 liters. But step on the brakes......they do not match the powertrain's abilities.
And the old GLH......TONS of torque steer, a stagecoach-like ride and cheesy interior.
Do you see SRT4's battling it out with Citroen, Peugeot, Skoda and Ford on the WRC series?
I rest my case.
For a domestic screamer....I'd stick with the Focus SVT. Much more balanced. Too bad we don't get the Focus RS Turbo like in Europe.
Let's just wait and see what the STi has in store for the SRT4.

I've driven it from Del Puerto Cyn several times in the last few weeks.
Apart from a couple of low level water crossings, by noon it's been fine the last couple weekends- but you're probably going earlier in the day...
I still would expect it to be pretty clear for the most part.
