Thumbs up We need some last min BAM-X Volunteers! (BAM-X THIS SUNDAY, Also COOKS!)

Hello everyone,

As you all know by now, BAM-X is happening THIS SUNDAY!!! The event starts at around 11am (it starts in the parking lot, then the main picnic/bbq/carshow/swapmeet/event area will be opened shortly after, at around 11:30-12:00). Here's what we need help with:

1. This is a VERY VITAL role and it's very important! We need at least two people to be "food police", basically we need a person to stand near the beginning of the food line to make sure that everyone in line is wearing a bracelet, and if they aren't, you get to kick them out of line ( ). We need a second person to stand where the food is actually being served to make sure that people aren't taking like 5lbs of food all at once. There will be a pre-allotted amount of food per person and we need to make sure that everyone eats, so it's VERY important that we make sure that people aren't wasting food. Volunteers who help with this (it will take about 1.5 hours of your time prolly) will get into the event for free, and you'll be some of the folks who eat first. We really need RELIABLE people who will follow through and really be there (often times people tell me they will do stuff and they totally bail on me on the day of, makes me so angry!). Please sign up by posting below. First post, first assigned/served. We're really counting on you!

2. We need a couple people to do parking.... Basically we need someone to stand at the front gate while the caravans and such come in to tell each car where to go. We need the Car show, swap meet, and of course vendors to go into the picnic area, and everyone else goes into the parking lot. We can make signs to make the job a lot easier for you, but we need someone to physically do this for us since we can't be at 10 places at once otherwise I would do it. We need a second person to be in the main parking lot guiding cars on where to go and how to park (We'll explain on what to do when you get to the event and check in with either me, Ave, or Anna.) This job shouldn't take long at all since everyone gets there early and your job will require you to be there only at the very beginning.

I need the #2 people to get there early, about 10:00am at the latest so you can direct people to go into the right areas. You guys will also get to eat before everyone else.

The #1 people don't need to get there early since we're not serving food until 12pm anyway, so you can showup with everyone else.

Look for me so I can give you specific directions (I'm the tallest and most recognizable person there probably and I'll be wearing a red and white checkered shirt, so you can't miss me! Otherwise you can look for Ave or Anna if you know what they look like (which I'm pretty sure you all do).

Please respond in this thread so I can sign you up, and when you're signed up we are RELYING ON YOU TO BE THERE, so please only post if you're serious about going and will be there to do the job! Both jobs are really important and we really need you guys to help us out in this area... I wish we could do it ourselves but we have soooo much on our plate already that it would be impossible.

One last thing, to the cooks who are helping us out, if you could do me a favor and PM me to verify that you will be there and doing the deed. I will make sure that your entrance is free and that you at least get some free raffle tix out of the whole deal since your job is so vital and important. If you could PM me your phone numbers so I can call you and talk to you briefly about what the deal is and such. You guys have the most important role to play in this event (well, besides Ave and Anna, ) and you guys are VITAL to this event, I can't thank you guys ENOUGH for your hard work and efforts. You not only get in for free, get to eat however much/whatever/whenever you want, but you will also get first dibs on whatever leftovers we have, which includes soda, food, and whatever else we have. We are very thankful to have you guys helping us out, and I'll make sure that your generous contribution to the event doesn't get un-noticed. Perhaps we can get you a special title like "BAM COOKS" or something, lol. You guys rock and we're all grateful to have you guys on board.

Daniel, I just took a peek at last year's volunteer thread and not that I'm stepping up to help w/ parking, but I think you'll need 3 or 4 volunteers -- one near the park entrance, at least one (2 would be better) in the main lot, and another in the vendor/carshow section.

Also, do you need anyone to bring ice around "kickoff" time(I could pitch in here!)? And also a bit later into the day... like maybe around 1:00 or 1:30?

I know you've got a LOT of bases to cover. I was just wondering if you've already got this dialed in. I'm sure folks would be more than willing to help things run as smoothly as possible, bruddah.

Cliff, reason being we only need about 2 people for parking guidance is last year the park employees were kind enough to guide a majority of the caravans on where to park.

Thnx, Ave. I was just looking out for y'all. The less chaos, the better, eh?

Back to my other question: Do y'all got the ice situation all dialed in?
