no...LIDAR is laser...it's just that radar detectors aren't as reliable detecting LIDAR as they are meant for RADAR.

edit: If you have V1 you don't have to worry.

You're much more likely to get popped by radar than lidar. Lidar they really only use in speed traps.

yeah, I saw it on the news though, CHP is using lidar now to run speed traps, essentially one guy sits with the gun, while multiple officers are on bikes/cars to pull over who the guy with the gun says too

And yeah, once you your detector picks it up, it means the beam is already on you, which means its already too late.

yeah I saw one the other day. One cop up top looking each way (2) and around 8 chp chasing down. rediculous.

They move around and it's not every day.

you can usually see it coming if you're paying attention.

radar detectors are still going to save your butt most of the time. I want one for road trips mostly....and my run home.

BINGO. And they are using these as a replacement to ALL Radar guns. At least in the Channel 2 news story I watched.

So radar dectors that detect Laser are worthless other than knowing 2 seconds before you get pulled over. You however are still geting pulled over.

I got hit with the laser not long ago which got me a speeding ticket. your laser detector will definitely not go off until it is pointed at you and by then you're screwed. I was using a v1 and this happened on highway 5

I think I might look into that scrambler kit....I saw someone do one that was motorized to retract...sick.

I want that. Just that split second can help a lot.
