I don't think the fed care about the fairness in the game. It's more of the fact that people used an illegal substanced and since these people are of high profiles they can be made into examples and try to discourage the use of illegal substances like HGH and such.

clemens equals HALL OF FAMER...
everyone knows that pitchers have been juicing even more than hitters for the sake of healing between outings. You don't throw 97mph in your 40's without taking care of your body... with or without roids. Clemens BUSTS his ***. Trains as harder than most of the pitchers in the game. Ask anyone that's played with him.
I'm so ****ing sick of this steroid ****. It's a skill game. Roids/HGH might help you heal better between innings or give you an extra mph or two... take a great hitter and give him and extra 10 feet on his fly ball but it doesn't make the player. We're talking about guys like clemens that were already great. Bonds... all ready great.
And the great part of the whole deal is that it's the commissioner that wants this ****. Guys hit 70homers or strike out 20 guys and he looks great because the FANS want to see that and they pay for it. So the teams make money and the league makes money. You toss a couple hundred million at one guys and you ruin the game of baseball... BOTTOM LINE.
Baseball hasn't been pure since the first guys started making more than minimum wage.
so everyone that's *****ing now after they've been hooting and hollering at games watching guys hit the long ball or throw no hitters... then turns on the guys when they find out they're juicing... hypocrites.
You want a pure sport... hmmm. Go watch curling. That's about all that's left.

mmmm, I think I'm gonna hafta counter that. I had two friends in highschool that were both smaller than me. I ran faster, hit harder, and tackled much better than they could. Once summer, they both mysterious started hanging out together all the time, put on about 40 lbs of muscle, and started knocking the **** out of all the rest of the kids on the squad. And their attitudes on life went to ****.
Now I'm not saying that baseball is anything like football, but I think roids would have a little more to do with it than just 10 feet on a flyball...

Have to remember than these guys were using things that were not only legal in the world but legal in baseball until they outlawed them. Then they go to something else. They'll always do that.
It's kind of like writing someone a ticket for going 65mph on the freeway today because it used to be 55mph.

HGH wasn't illegal while they were using it... just a thought. Nobody uses roids anymore.

Of course the players are going to go into the grey areas and use substances that aren't illegal or outlawed up until that time comes.

And we're talking about professional athletes.
You looked at the size of the people in the NFL??? Ever stood next to one before, shook there hand????
You're talking about guys in high school that are going up against 155 pound running backs and 165 pound linebackers.
Not 255 pound 6'5" running backs going up against guys the exact same size.
shoot we had a dude on our baseball team...shoot he didn't even make cuts and he was the coaches son. Dude would wiff 10 times. Hit 10 grounders then hit one about 420 feet. All he could do was hit the living crap out of the ball. Mean while the 140 pound kid that could field like crazy and hit the gaps was one of our best players... think roids would have helped our 2nd basemen???

well then treat them like any other illegal substance takers: arrest them...

That's o.k. when I was in high school a few of my friends started using roids. I gained muscle STRENGTH as fast as they did, they just looked bigger than I did. Funny thing is... they couldn't dunk like I could or run the 40 as fast. They just looked bigger. And they turned in to complete *** holes and 2 of them ended up getting kicked out of school.

Yeah that is true. Alot of players used those substances when they weren't illegal and most don't use them currently and if they do then they're clearly breaking the law/rules.
Of course the players are going to go into the grey areas and use substances that aren't illegal or outlawed up until that time comes.

unfortunately bonds was dead on with his conversation (supposed) with Griffey Jr. that grey area is the difference between hitting .310 with 38hr and getting paid $10million to hitting .325 with 48hm and getting $20million and MVP awards.
It does help. It is cheating. But when you get rewarded for it and EVERYONE is doing it in one way or another it's hard to say no.
I tell you right now, I'm a pretty moral guy. I've never smoked a cigerette or smoked weed in my life but if someone told me that I could play ball again if I started shooting HGH and they GUARANTEED me that... I'd have a really hard time saying no. I LOVE baseball.
And you have to remember that a lot of these guys are older. Ages when they'd be on there way out of the game. They're doing whatever it takes to keep doing what they love the most.
If I got hurt and some trainer said dude... get surgery now and possibly not snowboard for a year or two or take this for a few weeks and you'll be back on your feet. I'd do it. Loosing snowboarding for long periods of time for me is just not an option anymore. I'm in a time in my life where I realize I won't be able to ride the way I do forever.
picture yourself in there spot. It's not easy.
Specially when EVERYONE is doing it. There will ALWAYS be some kind of performance enhancing drug that ends up illegal at some point.

It's a different game now. Don't see guys like Jr. going off because there swings are PERFECT and they have a freakish tallent. Guys like Cal playing every day because there tough as hell. Guys like Don Mattingly wouldn't make it in todays game... not and be icons like there are. It's sad. Really is. Bums me out. I barely watch games anymore. I'm still a fan and I still love the game but it's different now.
I'm not saying I agree with it. My main stance is that things aren't gonna change because congress is wasting tax dollars on this and dragging hall of famers through the mud.
Only way it's gonna change is if they STFU. Fire the commissioner. Start making salery caps salery caps and start testing every player randomly several times a year.
Pisses me off that it costs $150 to watch a game now because the players are getting paid RIDICULOUS amounts and the owners are taking in RIDUCLOUS amounts.
Sad.
So I'm not saying I don't agree with you. I'm just sick of hearing about it. Sick of the government being involved and sick of people looking at the wrong part of the problem.

I've always said if they are going to make that much money, and they wanna stick it to us by making game tickets like 50-75 bux a piece, then i want a random test done on every player like twice a year.

I dont think we need the goverment involved in this. Lets face it.... theres a hell of a lot of players out there using. Does it affect you? No. So who gives a crap. BUT ! for those of you backing Clemens and taking his side... you better do so with other players like Bonds. Don't back one guy because you loved him as a kid... and at the same time turn around and said what another player SUPPOSEDLY did was wrong and he should be banned from baseball. Clemens wants to deny that he did it thats fine, Bonds denied doing it as well, yet everyone is all over Bonds. Lets be fair here people, don't back one guy cause your a fan of the yankess and hate the giants so your all over Bonds. Theres only been a few ADMITTING players to using steroids and lets face it... Petite and GIAMBI two ex Yankees, and yet we hear nothing about them. They got a free pass for admitting, but you wanna hang Bonds cause hes ACCUSED of using. Lets be fair !
