Warning... rolling smog check in San Jose

They are setup on Northbound 1st Street between Gish and Metro (Near 101)

Just watched them bust a Civic

strider327 06-06-2012 02:07 PM

Again? Damn, I'm not gonna see that girl no more then lol!

queeg9k 06-06-2012 02:11 PM

I thought you could just decline them. Am I ill informed?

Lowend 06-06-2012 02:12 PM

I wasn't stopped, just went by (in the company car :D )

Can't imagine that anyone would submit to the testing if it was just a simple act of saying "no"

I was under the same impression. Any one know otherwise?

Sorry I'm running late to pick my daughter up from school she's running a fever and I need to take her to the doctor. Next time sure :)

queeg9k 06-06-2012 02:23 PM

Or like the DUI checkpoint guy who just refused to say anything.

Heedz 06-06-2012 02:27 PM

They waste money like this, but can't provide money to support Fire depts, no wonder houses burn in SJ....

strider327 06-06-2012 02:29 PM

You can decline them, it is under your own digression. They CANNOT force you to do the test. Know your rights!

No, that's because you buy stuff off Amazon :)

Lowend 06-06-2012 02:33 PM

Dude - don't get me started about the City of San Jose's budget and the goddamn homeless in the creek behind my home; 3 fires in 2 months but SJPD doesn't have the resources to do anything... :mad2:

In all fairness this is CHP - so it's state money

Word. But I'm sure it's CHP doing it which means it's state funds and it's basically a state fundraiser. Like no tolerance days on the highway. It's BULL****.

The state spends and obscene amount of money on CHP staffing and activities but it comes back to them because of the tickets. But that's less money people have to pump in to the rest of the economy. I friggin hate the CHP. It has grown WAY out of control.

Until they start stepping up and actually aiding local police they can **** off in my book. And I'm a huge fan of law enforcement.

Let crime rates increase but write more useless tickets. The theory they push through the politicians is that they keep the roads safer. B>S> You flood a section of highway with CHP cars and people slow down. They go away and people speed up. I drive a section of road that is FLOODED with them several times a week. I see between 2 and 8 EVERY DAY. People still drive like morons through there. Hell I got cut off by a work van this morning. I was going 62 in a 55 and this dude flies by me.. cuts me off. Slams on his brakes. All in front of a CHP bike that had his head too far up his ass hiding behind his handy laser gun to see actual hazardous driving. Stupid. Oh... and mind you the dude almost crashed into a merging semi-truck while he was doing this. But sure as **** they have time to follow me for 5 miles down the highways while I'm going dead nuts the speed limit. Yeah!

right?! my brother in law is a SJ fire fighter.
I really want to put signs in the people who support measure B
and when those people call the fire dept., they show up and let their **** burn down.

04GG 06-06-2012 03:04 PM

We don't have fires where I am, but we have numerous break ins in my neighborhood and the police aren't able to respond to all of them because they are not "life threatening". TWO in the last week.

Note: nobody broke into my place. I have a dog. If I am home when someone tries to break in, they won't be calling police, they will be calling an ambulance or coroner for the perp.
