Visiting norcal
Sups norcal. I'll be up in norcal this weekend (visiting a friend in Santa Clara) and was wondering if there was a closer place to snowboard other than Tahoe? I hear it was a 4 hour trip one-day to Tahoe from the Santa Clara area and I am not sure if my friends and I are up for 8 hours of driving after the 6hour drive up to norcal from socal. Any suggestions? Also, any suggestions on places to eat at or things to do in SF? TIA!

Tahoe is 2hrs each way and is the closest place to ski from where you are at. Other places besides Tahoe would be Oregon, and Mammoth. Both are considerably further. I won't even suggest Shasta....

Hope on the 680 to the 80. If you go to sierra or boreal it should be about 3hrs without traffic

All depends on how you drive. IIRC it took about 2hrs from the Vacaville area so I would say add on at least half an hour to get to there.

I prefer Ruth's Chris because of the 400 degree plate with a bit off butter they serve the steak on, but the Shrimp Alexander and chocolate souffle from Mortons are amazing.

Yeah, i've been to ruth chris several times down here in LA, it's great, love that burning-hot plate the steaks come in. I've heard a lot about Harris. Do their steaks also come on burning-hot plates?
