Vishnu or Perrin catback exhaust?
Vishnu - $800
Perrin - $710
Is the Vishnu exhaust worth the extra $$$? I've heard both and Perrin's is LOUD. I already have a helix downpipe.
Thanks

What do you want from the catback?
The only reason to pay a lot for a catback is because you like a praticular exhaust note or you're crazy about the looks of the exhaust. Similar performance can be had from cheaper exhausts.
At least the Vishnu exhaust had some experimentation into being reasonably quiet while giving good horsepower gains. The Perrin exhaust is just flashy but loud (but some people like that).
Seriously you need to think about what you want out of an exhaust though. I mean the Bosal is fine if you like loud and about half the price of those, and the Borla Hush is quiet and still has shown to be comparable in performance with louder catbacks.

I have the Vishnu exhaust right now and prefer its sound (quitness) to the Perrin exhaust. The Perrin w/ a up/downpipe is just too loud for me, especially since I have to drive by the CHP station everyday. I also had the Borla Hush exhaust on my previous car and would recommend that also if you want the twin-tip, good hp gains and a not so loud ride.

Plus the cat back pipe flange is kinda week...not a true 3" flange. It actually reduces down where they welded on the flange to mate up to the DP. The sound and build quality of the Stromung is very nice, but it just didn't work with my set up.

Apparently, the Strömung components are all designed to be bolted to factory pieces, hence they neck down at the flange. I believe this is true even for their new 3" divorced wastegate downpipe. I have their 3" catback and it bolts up behind my factory 3rd cat with no problem because the tubing necks down at that point to be able to attach to the factory flange.
The necking down at the flange is a restriction but much less than an entire length of reduced diameter steel tubing with bends in it.
I like the sound of the Strömung but wouldn't want it to be any louder if I can help it. This makes me have to give some serious consideration to my future choice of downpipe and 3rd cat section. After the catback has been on the car for a while, the stainless takes on the look of the factory piece which makes it very stealth. I never wipe down the catback.
The Strömung 3" dual-tip catback cost me about $635 from an i-Club vendor (not local to BAIC) but I've seen it cheaper when they ran a special.
