Oh dude you barely hit the tree... that will definitely buff out... kinda goofy on the shifter part... When I hit my tree the whole motor and tranny were pushed back and my shifter popped out of its socket... I couldn't open and close the driver's door either...
Hopefully you will get a nice replacement and you won't have to roll around in a PedoVan.

I don't want an new EVO... well, I do, but they are baaaaaaaaaaank and the auto dual clutch thing is gh3y, I'd get the 5 speed.
when I lost my first subaru, an 04 sti, insurance gave me damn near what I paid for the car. Within 2 weeks insurance handed me a check and I found an 05 sti, which had 1/3 the miles and was in pristine condition. Overall, things happen for a reason and just look at the positive. You will most likely end up with a better car than you had before!
