The Van's on the hill resturant
Well a bunch of friends and I are going there this evening for dinner. Anyone have any recommendations as far as whats good and whats not? I'm probably looking for something more on the seafood or chicken side for dinner. Also could someone do me a big favor and go on their website - http://www.thevansrestaurant.com - and copy their resturant menu here for me? I'm pwned at work and can't go to their site...due to "Alcohol/Tobacco"...gotta love those filters at work

I'm assuming that I should call you at work...so I shall.
Dammit...I can't view the pdf since it's a newer version apparently and I have an old version of Adobe reader and since I'm not an admin on my comp I can't install it

just a little FYI about Vans on the Hill. its pretty geriatric. my girlfriends dad was a bartender there and he said the average age there was about 70.
its a pretty cool place though. nice view. pretty crazy story how they got it up on the hill too.
i had the calamari and it was pretty good. not great but good.

I've been to Vans. I think its over rated. The view is great if its clear. The food is alright.
Why not just decide what to get once you arrive instead of asking someone to go the extra mile just so you can think about dinner all day??

Thank you all for those who gave some input
A total of 6 of us went there last night and amazingly traffic wasn't that bad since we took carpool the entire way to Belmont and it was a damn good thing we did since the toll plaza to the bay bridge was INSANELY backed up (thank god I don't live in the actual bay area.) So we get to Vans and we were seated right away since a few friends were there already and we had reservations. The waiter (Adrian) was very helpful, polite, etc. just overall a very professional guy and pretty attentive even while it was pretty busy last night. I had a gin&tonic, mixed greens salad, calepini diablo (angel hair pasta, scallops, shrimp with a tomato cream sauce, omg it was hella good lol) and for desert I had their cheesecake and it was damn delicious too (cheese cake factoy ain't got ish on that lol.) We were all reallllly pleased with the service and the quality of food there as well. My friends had a porterhouse steak, filet mignot, and 2 of them had full racks of ribs and they were really blown away by the quality. The evening there was very satisfying! As we were leaving this family got their car stuck on the curb going downard on the hill and we helped them push the car backwards so we could get it unstuck. What happened was their car somehow rolled forward a bit off the asphalt and the front tires were on the dirt so we helped them push it back onto the asphalt. One of the poor women were balling her eyes out because she didn't know what to do so we helped em out even on full stomachs lol. On the car ride home I laid my seat back in my friend's car and passed out in a food coma. It was that damn good that I fell asleep leaving belmont and woke up when we got to Fairfield (took about little over an hour) and it seemed like time flew by!
Cliff notes: Vans is AWESOME, amazing quality & service with really good time spent there! Oh and the bill came out to $315 for 6 of us
I wasn't all that surprised, but certainly was the most expensive dinner I've gone to with friends.
