So we don't derail other threads, lets get this out here.

Vandalism: Crimes and Penalties | Criminal Law

Read that, and understand folks, that even putting a STICKER on someone elses car, without permisison, is in fact Vandalism. It's not ok, its not "cute" or cool, it's not funny in any way.

Now, if they give you permission to do it, sure its all in good fun. However if you know the person would not be ok with it, and you do it, you are committing a crime, simple as that. No better than someone who keys your car, or kicks the fender in.

 

And its ok to take a bat to someones knees in reaction to a sticker being put on your car

I get what you're saying, I agree with it in the fact that I would not be happy, but A STICKER does not justify a bat...

 

OH, I never said it was legal to do it, but I say again, My car > other people. I want people to understand here, there are consequences to their "jokes" and some are just not funny!

Funny: Putting glitter in the air vents of your buddies 4x4 during a off road trip, because he zip tied a fish under your seat, because you put zip ties on his driveshaft, because he unbolted your doors and hung them on a rope from a tree during the night. (note, all done to beat up, offroad only trucks that don't have paint...or hell a straight panel on them.)

Not Funny: Putting stickers on someones street ride, or worse yet, drawing little pictures in the dirt on their paint.

 

What if someone took a sticker off your car?

That would be the same, Vandalism. If you don't own the car, don't touch it, simple as that, unless you have express permission (as we gave each other in the 4x4 group) to do such.

 

...I am sure you are kidding, but...you do understand how much damage to the paint it can do, drawing a little picture in dirt on top of it. Think sandpaper.

Perhaps because some people think its a joke to do things to other peoples cars? They don't have respect for the hard work people put into them.

Had someone draw a dick on the brand new paint of my wifes black car. Wasn't stoked but quite frankly... some people honestly don't know better.

Worst part was when they scribbled it off. Fortunately I just waxed the damned thing so it didn't do to much.

 

As with any good shenanigans, understand your target.

Wait...So in your book it is perfectly okay to steal body panels off cars, contaminate their interiors and mechanically compromise them (funny)....but stickers and finger drawing (not funny) warrant felony assault and attempted murder?! I am Russian and have weird logic, but this **** just don't make sense.
