the value of a salvage titled car?

How to determine this? I was thinking about half of KBB.

any ideas?

You really have to consider what happened and what happened since- sometimes it gets that way from a minor accident that can be repaired with some frame work, other times its for really drastic reasons.

There are quite a few cars with salvage titles that have been fixed nicely and are just fine, but I'd expect that the majority of them got so badly f**ked up at some point that they should be avoided at any cost- even if someone offers to give it to you.

It's just the states way of reminding you;

are you buyting or selling? Alot of times a car can get salvaged from vandalism or theft recovery and are just fine once fixed, usually a carfax can clear up alot but not always. But be careful, just about every car Ive seen for sale with a salvage title 'claims' to be a theft recovery
