if there's one thing i learned about valentine's day reservations, it's to book it EARLY! most of the places i tried placing reservations at were booked by mid-january!

live & learn.

I made reservations at Ristorante Avanti in Santa cruz(only last week), white gold diamond earings, and maybe a drive somewhere tonight depending on weather.

go up Mt. Madona. Hecker pass. Good view up there.

But it looks like it's gonna be raining so you may just want to roll out to the point or something.

That's a nice place to eat. Nice gift too.

I'm such a tool. I need to get my girlfriend some jewelry. She's not the normal diamond ear rings type though. more like wood plugs and lip rings.

If you're into Sushi, you might want to look into Khirala (spelling) in Berkeley. It's always packed but they don't take reservations so you might have a chance. It's not cheap but some of the best sushi in the bay area. Try the red clam...its supposed to be an aphrodisiac. Seriously...Good tiiiiiimes.

hawthorne has insane prices. If you've got money to burn and want to impress your lady that's a good place to do it. Plan on spending like over $200 on dinner. well over if you get a good bottle. It's a block from my office.

Chez Panisse in Berkeley is Bank...My sis and I took our mom there for Mother's Day. Food is excellent, but out the door for 3 people is over $200. And as far as reservations go...minimum 3 month wait depending on occasion.

I know it is late but for future references some nice restaurants to wine and dine the lady are:

Postrio - SF
Gary Danko - SF
Moose's - SF
Bob's Steak and Chop House - SF
Sent Sovi - Saratoga
Wine Cellar - Los Gatos

Classy joints...

Im taking the lady to "The Basin" in Saratoga. Got decent reviews. As far as gifts go, flowers, card, and something made is good enough for now until we get married....Hope this helps...

my boy gave me some roses, a movie, and took me out to dinner at a nice restaraunt Saturday night....but I think as long as your spending time with the person you care about, you can go anywhere and do anything and still have a good time. Did any couples go to thunder hill for valentines day? thats where my boyfriend was, I was supposed to go but I had to go to school.... if you miss two classes your kicked out :/
