i just got an email that our church had tens of thousands of dollars worth of a/v equipment stolen from where it was stored. please be on the lookout for this stuff. this is just off the top of my head... will have a full list later. will be combing craigslist.

shure sm57s (i know... common)
mackie powered monitors and subs
sonor drum set
aviom in-ear monitor setup
some random DI's and a bunch of half-broken boom stands...

whack. just whack.

 

I hate theives... I REALLY hate people that steal from churches.

I'd start looking at anyone that knew it was there.

 

i dont mind people stealing from the big corperations, government, banks (without harming anyone)...but from small groups like church or from a average individual, thats not cool!

when the church i go to was robbed, the <bleep>hole burned portions of the place to cover his robbery.

this was stolen from our santa clara campus. my buddy is trying to get together a list of all the stuff. i'll try to post the exact list as soon as i get it. turns out they broke in to the office and stole some projectors and laptops too (joke's on them... those were some old freaking laptops... haha).

as far as markings, i don't recall very well. i'm part of the san francisco campus so i don't work with the stuff every week, but i know the aviom units were labeled for instruments but they were just from a label maker and could easily just be taken off.

for us we can and will move on. the aviom units weren't really something we could necessarily afford, but an individual donor stepped up and fronted the thousands of dollars it took to set it up. in the end it's just material things and a matter of money, but it's still a very sad thing. those laptops and projectors were for the kiddies! messed up man.

thanks guys. i think the main thing to look out for is those aviom in-ear monitors. not many people run those and they're really only useful for live sound. they look like this

I would imagine that there would be a serial number on something like this, if that's the case, then you will more than likely be able to identify it as your unit.

 

stealing from anyone is ufcking stupid..

if you steal from corperations they will jack up their prices even more and lower their employee wages even more.

stealing from individual ppl... should get u shot...
