Urgent: Any locals with OBD-II (sp?) sensor?

My car rewarded me with a CEL, check engine light, while driving my 1999 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS. I have had a minor history with getting a CEL concerning a Fuel/Air trim malfunction, but I want to make sure this is not the same problem. (That code was 'cleared' a long time ago; it might have returned to haunt me)

Are there any local people to South San Francisco or Redwood City that have this device and would help me figure out what code spiking it?

I need this done fairly soon. (This weekend, perhaps?)

Thanks
Sev

I second that! Thought you disappeared man.

Yes, I have a scanner and so does Chris in San Jose. Perhaps, we can work this out somehow.
Hello Alex/Adam,

School has been keeping me extremely busy; sometimes I wish I had disappeared.

It would be perfect if I could meet up with Chris in San Jose, since I'll be in the area on Sunday if I recall correctly.

Chris, you around?

I have a scanner on my PDA (Pocketlogger.) If you come to the BIg Dogs grill tonight, I will clear/read the code for you.

Hey KurleeDaddeeWRX,

Unfortunately, I don't have my car with me right now.
Where are you located...Redwood City? And where is Big Dogs grill?

My car is in South San Francisco right now, and I can't get it until either Saturday or Sunday.

Hey Chris!

Yea, sorry for vanishing. I've been keeping busy with school and engaging in various other activities.

How are you guys doing?

PS: Chris, are you free this weekend. Perhaps Saturday or Sunday? (Maybe Sunday would be better)

Damn, Ron Price's (South San Francisco) by far has the worst customer service towards me I have ever experienced

My mom made me an appointment tomorrow at Ron Price Subaru to check the CEL's code. Given the idiotically hectic nature of this weekend, I asked the service guy if I can come in earlier and just get it done quickly.

I told him all it involves is 1) OBD-II sensor 2) A Mechanic's hand for 25 seconds 3) My *** over there.

Here is his response:

"There are several reasons why we just can't do that:
1.) "It's a $4,000 piece of machinery" <-- BS?
2.) "We have a backlog of customer anxious to have their
cars fixed." - For ****s sake, it takes like 20 seconds to
just plug the damn device in.

I swear, you buy **** from these people, they rip you off on parts and labor, and they provide crummy customer service. It's not a heart transplant we're talking about here. It's plug and play for Christ's sake.

OK, now that I've vented, Bill, you around?

Sorry to but in, But I'm in need as well... My cars been giving me a cel for 75-100 miles and then going away for 75-100 miles and then coming back on after 75-100 miles and then... you get the picture. It's been going on for a month and the car runs fine. I'll buy dinner if someone comes to UCKK with a scanner and an answer this Tues.

If you guys come to Redwood City this Sunday in the afternoon, I will pull your codes and bring my book of OBD-II codes to tell you what they mean. Please pm me if you are interested.
