Unsatisfied with Bayson R Lip :(

I went up to San Jose yesterday and bought a S204 Replica front lip from them. I've always heard good things about their lips so I decided to buy one from them. I bought it and it was wrapped pretty good in plastic so I really couldn't see the lip too well.

Well earlier today I opened up the package to see that the lip was in terrible condition. The finish over it was gray and it looked liked it had streaks running down it with deep scratches all over the place. I wished I would have opened up the lip to check it out before I bought it I've seen lips that other people have received from them and they looked perfect.

I know Bayson R has a no return or exchange policy so I just sanded down the lip and prepped it for paint tomorrow. I really didn't want to paint it but I guess I have no choice. I guess I'm just one of those unlucky ones who got a busted up lip.

I was under the impression that the lip WAS sold that way. At the price they sell it, it's not unreasonable to put in a little time to paint it.

Man that sucks. I just ordered one recently and mine was in great shape, didnt have any complaints. Have you tried talking to them about it? even though its probably too late if its prepped for paint.

Yea, regardless you still have a urethane lip for a decent price. A quick few coats of paint and you'll be alright.

I'd at least ask them to take a look.
I've been in there a couple of times and the place seemed legit

Yeah the place definitely seemed legit. My friend bought a lip for his Civic at the same time and his was in perfect condition. It's probably too late to tell them about it now

I bought some Rust-Oleum paint for plastic and I'm going to have a friend just paint it for me later today.

It sucks, but you got exactly what you paid for....cheap parts are cheap for a reason.

Mine was flawless black ABS. Some nuts and bolts and it fit perfectly..for a fraction of the price of a real S204 lip. It will last longer too cause it is flexible. Have you even TRIED to exchange it?

its unprepped part, i wouldve expected it myself. post some pics lets see how bad it really is. if it was a cf lip then if there were gouges and imperfections i would be upset, but any fiberglass/urethane/abs, ill expect those.

The swirls were just like that before I sanded it and there was a lot more scratches, I just didn't finish the right side of the lip yet.
