Question Is it unethical to abuse a rental car?

Is it unethical to drive a rental car hard? Like mowing over speedbumps, slamming on the brakes, etc. Nothing too crazy like crashing it or setting it on fire.

Discuss.

people from pleasanton/sunol might know this spot

http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&...259.71,,0,8.56

the railroad tracks at the castlewood golf course. a few years ago, they fixed the lump, but years ago, like back in 2000, there was a hump, kinda like a speed bump, where you could catch some air!
we used to jump it in my buddies lifted trucks, etc.

well back then, i've had my cars in accidents from people hitting me, which put me in and out of rentals for quite some time. one time being a whole 3 months straight!

so this one night, we packed 4 friends into a rental (probably a ford taurus), which made it a bit too heavy. i hit the hump going at about 60+ like we normally do, but the front end came down and WHAM!
drove it to my buddies house close by, and tranny fliud is gushing out!

since it was like 2am, only the raleys was open. we bought jbweld! (it's a silly putty that when smooshed around, after a few hours turns rock solid like metal)

we unbolted the bottom of the tranny which holds the fluid, cleaned it up, and shoved jbweld into the huge gashes torn out.

in the morning we bolted it back up, refilled it, and voila! fixed!

returned that rental, got another

this is also the same spot that I super launched my acura CL a good 50 feet while running from the CHP
of course, this s*** is all from my long ago past

and if anybody ever doubts the validity of my stories, there are lots of people in my acura club that can confirm all of them

I say no, there's a reason there's a phrase "drive it like its a rental"

I averaged 13.3 mpg in a ford fusion V6 around town. Econo tires+V6+many stoplights=

want to hear my story about putting huge dents from 4x4ing a rental truck they gave me, then bondo'ing it and using green rattle can paint to cover it back up?
and the huge speed limit sign that somehow got wedged in the rear bumper?
