It may not be as nerdy or useful as car modding, but the over all tendencies of the hobby itself are aligned with pretty much any hobby

-Waste of time
-Waste of money

However, people waste time and money on hobbies all the time because it makes them happy
So with your formula, smoking crack, buying hookers, and paying bums to fight each other all qualify as hobbies.

Collecting coins or cards may not be very exciting, but those items do apreciate in value... unlike a purse that will depriciate after the next fashion trend.

I happen to tweak my car because:

- I wanted to learn more about different concepts like physics, fluid power, combustion theory, general mechanic knowledge, driving techniques, etc.

- Just the genral feeling of accomplishment after instaling or tweaking something.

- Customizing the car (no matter how miniscule the change) sort of personilizes it for me

- The after effect makes the commute to work that more tolerable

Buying (not collecting mind you) purses involves nothing more than a valid credit card and an ebay account. That is why having several "designer" purses shouldn't be praised or respected as some sort of pass time or hobby. An abundance of designer clothes/accessories is materialism at it's finest.

Every car depreciates.... that's why I only have one, that I spent less than $20K on, and it does a terrific job at taking me where I need to go.

I don't care what other strangers do with there lives. But I don't have to respect the thought of overpriced fashion or how our consumer ***** society gives it such importance. I can understand owning one or maybe even two purses that cost a lot. But buying purses as a respectable hobby......... come on.

This was titled the ultimate hateroo forum for a reason right?

lol..werd

My woman does the coach purse thing, she caps herself at $300 a purse

I cant really say much when I drop 3gs in mods in one year, and she buys 1 purse a year. She drives a 17k accord, I drive a 32k evo

I'm not about to call her wasteful, lol

My $400 wallet > your $150 wallet. Ha, ha poor people.

I wonder why that luxury watch thread didn't get the same nonsense posts that this thread has gotten. Is it perhaps because the watches were for men?

p.s. no you can't have the pink slip to my car; although after you get your M5, you can try to win it on T.V.
