I know this has nothing to do with UFC but didn't feel like starting a new thread.

The upcoming fight between Fedor and Josh Barnett is canceled. Barnett tested positive for steroids.

Yup. Fedor will now be facing Vitor Belfort as Barnett's replacement. Kinda made me since Vitor's been fighting at 185 recently. Especially as Dana has said he'd actually like to have Vitor back to eventually challenge The Spider's stranglehold of the middleweight belt.

Exactly! It's still mindblowing to me that Barnett gets tagged for steroids (twice!) but the entire Hammer House team hasn't ever

I read that, too. Plus, a couple HWs from StrikeForce & even Jeff Monson are possibilities. It just sucks that this turmoil courtesy of the juicer Barnett may be the thing puts the nail in Affliction's coffin.

On such short notice, I understand why they might be tapping Vitor since he's already slated for the Santiago fight (but at MW) on that same card. But ain't it funny that he's now willing to fight a much bigger (and more talented) opponent in Fedor? Yet not too long ago, he was b*tching & moaning about facing Mousasi only if at MW. Kinda loco, huh?

Hopefully, Affliction can salvage a "decent" replacement. I really wanna see Fedor pound on a HW, esp. one of the bigger boys w/ Barnett's size. It would definitely further spur on folks wanting to see a Fedor-Brock match-up asap.

We'll see... I guess.
