Two or more sets of wheels: all seasons or not?

California residents... if you have 2 or more sets of wheels, do you even bother to get all seasons? Or do you just go summers?

I have summers on one set, and am debating on what to get on my second set. I never go to the snow, but might ONCE in the life of the tire.

depends on budget.

I'm a broke full time student, so I got 17's that came with factory RE92s, and my old 16's with... bald RE92s.

then why bother with all seasons if you have 2 or more sets.

on my truck, when it was my daily driver, i had 2 sets.

1 for 4 wheeling. and other set with some rice JAOS rims with street treads.

so if you have 2 sets, when the rainy season is over, switch over to the summer tires.

Only because the other set is dedicated for autocross. The only time they see the roads is on raceday.

if you NEVER go to the snow then just keep one set of wheels with summer tires. You can always borrow a set for that once a year trip. I have a stack of stockers in my garage....lots of us do.

If you do want two sets I'd recommend a set of summer high performance and a set of all seasons that lean toward rain handling and comfort.....good for long trips and rain driving...won't kill you in the snow if you absolutely need em.

plenty of decent ones out there. Get something between like 300-450 tread wear.

1 set of all-seasons for the winter/snow months
1 set of summer tires

Why get all-seaons you ask? Because it doesnt rain/snow 100% of the time in the winter months, so a little extra dry traction is nice on a normal basis

Then when summer rolls around, well for max traction in the dry months summer tires

Might get a set of track only tires too
