Turbo upgrade question??
I want to upgrade my turbo on an 05 Wrx. My question is which ones are good for my car? I went to SpeedElement.com but didn't see any on their site. Any info would help in my decision. My subie is stock at the moment with only a rice off valve lol.

look into a 16g or 18 g turbos, you have a 2.0 motor so your spool will still be like stock but you have the ability for some nice power without throwing a bunch of money at the car.

depends on your power goals and what else you plan on upgrading.
vf39 - 400ish used
hta68 or 16g - 600ish used
18-20g are around the same price rangeish but your spool time is going to be delayed.
everything will pretty much require bigger injectors and a better intercooler. also you'll need a turboback exhaust if you dont have one already. probably looking at about $1000 roughly for all these parts. also dont forget $300ish for a custom tune.

on my 05 wrx I went with a vf-34. loved it
I wouldnt recommended going 18 to 20g on a 2.0 unless you like more turbo lag.
remember if you do a turbo upgrade you will also need some new injectors, larger fuel pump, and come type of engine management/ tune
a vf series turbo will run around 400-500 (in good condition)
565 sti pink injectors will be around 200 used
walbro fuel pump with install kit will be about 125 brand new
cobb accessport v1 will cost around 300 used

if your car is stock, you should get a catless uppipe (sti uppipe works fine), a catted or catless 3" downpipe, a 3" catback, upgraded fuel pump and injectors, and then a turbo, id personally go with a VF series turbo
no need to go to bigger turbo unless you are trying to get over 300 awhp

stay stock turbo and go full stage 2, wont cost you alot and it will bea HUGE difference in the power youhave now. Going with a new turbo you will need injectors, and a fuel pump, and some more small little things. Just my advice, butif i did go for a turbo I would also go with the newer sti turbos!
