Turbo probably self-destructed
Was driving the STI to work this morning and it started running like crap.
RPM dependent whirring noise, the car went super rich and I was blowing blackish smoke from the PS of the engine compartment when I revved it at idle.
No CEL strangely...
Had the car towed over the Mann Engineering and they are thinking Turbo too
Just emailed Blouch (it's a 16G XTR from 2014) - we'll see if they can do anything to take care of me
...goddammit... I don't need another $2000 repair bill right now

spoke with them today. No warranty after 6-months (it's been almost 3 years, so I get it)
Looks like a rebuilt will be $400-$600 depending on what they find when they open it up... which I ain't thrilled about, but is a hell of alot better than $1500 for a new turbo

I thought about it, but if I do - I have to retune... which means I'm stupid if I don't upgrade to Delicious Flex Fuel V2.
My wife is already pissed off about having to dump more money into the car.

they did the engine install/E85 conversion and know the car well.
I'd thought about sending to GST, but it was more than twice as far, I know GST is swamped, and since the car is currently Delicious tuning V1 Flex Fuel, I'm limited on who can get into the tuning.
At the time, I thought it was just a cracked PCV or vac line so a 50 mile tow didn't make much sense.
