For "first timers", my friend Aaron (Finn) and I had a great time. It was cool meeting up with Bill and Pete. Hopefully I'll see you guys at more rally events like today's. And hopefully we'll see more WRX's out there.

jimr, so you guys were car # 8? Glad to hear you had a good time.
I was navigating for Pete in car # 9, and at the finish I was handing out those postcards with information on them about Open Road Racing.
Hope to see you at the ITN rally May 1st and maybe the PCA rally May 8th.

The carrera deal in September sounds interesting. Any excuse to drive up in the Sierra sounds interesting! My buddy that was with me (Finn) wants me to kind of give him a tour of some good roads I know about this spring/summer, which of course I'd be happy to do. Tie in some camping trips, some car-talk coupled with some cold-ones around the campfire......I'm there. We're planning some drives out on La Porte Rd (between Quincy and La Porte), Quincy-Oroville Rd (kind of Hwy 162....used to be graded gravel/dirt from Lake Oroville up to Buck's Lake, west of Quincy), some drives down Hwy 49 thru the Mother Lode country, a drive up on Western Divide Hwy, south of Sequoia NP, and some night drives thru the Delta region. Back when we were in an air-cooled VW club, we organized a navigational rally out in the Delta @ night......the "yellow sheep" rally......don't ask. I'll just tell you that most everyone got lost and gave up @ 3:00am. Anyway, my hobby is driving (couldn't have guessed that huh?)....looking foward to joining in. Good to meet you,

Your Delta run at night sounds a blast. You should check out the "Starlite" stories on the TRC website and the ITN website. You would have LOVED those.
From what you've written, I really think you would enjoy the ITN rallies. They are hoping to schedule some more during the summer and fall, but no fixed dates yet. There will definitely be a 14-16 hour rally in November.
Here are the two websites I mentioned,

Sure. I spread the word among my air-cooled VW buddies as well. Like I was saying, our old VW club used to put on informal maze-type navigational runs. Maybe next time I'll bring my 2050cc Weber-carbed VW out to play with the Porsches.
