Also one of my class mates had a 4 yr old daughter that went through on a plane trip with her mom, tsa pulled her aside and threatened to strip search her to her mother...

haha yea i agree. but its also a lose lose situation because of how stupid politics are. lets say someone got through security then people would be blaming the president for not having enough security at airports. And all the other times the crazy spending will be the target of criticism that goes on. 'Merica gotta love it.

Here is an exempt from my last encounter with TSA:
I had some extra business cards from a SoCal photographer in my pocket. After emptying my pockets to go through security I decided I didn't need to put them back in. At the end of the security checkpoint was a grey Rubbermade trash can, jut as you'd buy from OSH or Home Depot. I asked my girlfriend to toss the cards in there as I got all my stuff together, as she was ready to proceed to the gate.
TSA woman rushes over.
TSA: Did you just put something in there?
Me: Yes, she did. I had some trash in my pockets I didn't need.
TSA: That's not a trash can.
Me: It is a Rubbermade trash can, perhaps you should put a sign on it that says "This is not a trash can." (she didn't get my "This is not a pipe." reference)
TSA: That's not a trash, it is for liquids only.
What concerns me is that she wasn't concerned that we had possibly gotten a harmful object through the checkpoint.
I also always trigger a call on the radios "Insulin pump, we have a passenger with an insulin pump. No alarm, we need a supervisor." Come on TSA, insulin pumps have been around from the 1970's... Get your **** together!

Last time I had to take a flight was in 04/05 and swore I would never fly again. They refused to answer why I was detained and took me to a private room and strip searched me. I was going to miss my flight and they said not their problem and I would have to purchase new tickets if I did miss my flight. This happened in Portland and SF and when I finally got on my flight and back home sf stole a bunch of stuff out of my luggage. Never again, I would rather drive. When all was said and done they said I was on the watch list which I don't know how since that was first and last time I took a plane since I was 2.

At JFK my 80 year old grandma forgot she had some bottles of shampoo in her carry-on. They pulled everything out of her bags and then made her pack it all back up.

Ya no kidding! To say the least I was pissed!
Matt they also did that to me.. Dumped my purse and all carry on and found nothing but made me clean it all up. I was about 30 seconds from missing my flight back home. Thankfully I hadn't had my car accident yet cus I had to hella run to the far end of airport to catch my flight.
When I say dumped they literally picked it up turned it upside down and shook the **** out of it as my stuff went everywhere.

I did miss a flight because I refused to get in the scanner. They said wait here we need a supervisor to do a pat down. Is said OK and waited a couple minutes, than asked the person who told me to wait when the supervisor would be there and they said 30 minutes. I said that will make me miss my flight. They said tuff. Fine I will go through the scanner. I walked over to the scanner and they said I would have to get back in the hour long line, every one in line was like wtf? Hella people in line where like no its OK let him cut. But the tsa agents said nope.
