Train Sux

I live in Point Richmond and the only access out of the residential area is throught this road with a railroad crossing over it. At 8 AM every morning there is always this train that goes back and forth 4 to 5 times or maybe more.. at the crossing delaying traffic.

This is very annoying and I have filed a complaint to the Richmond Pacific already.

Does any of you know what the hell is the purpose of trains going back and forth.

It's no like they are changing tracks..

marina bay area? i've waited there a few times before. I'm not sure what they're doing, but it IS annoying. They're talking about building an overpass, but the residents nearby don't want that because it'll reduce the property value.

Yup.. I just want to start honking and the fecking train..

It's not like they are going to get the overpass done in a year.. it takes time and the amount of room there.. it's going to be terrible redirecting traffic.

have you tried going down regatta to bypass those tracks? i'm assuming you're stuck on marina bay pkwy. if the train usually goes on a different track than what crosses regata.

No I need to get on 80 north so if I get on Regetta that takes me down 580 which is like going out of the way. And have coilovers on.. REgetta is not the way to go.. it's bumpy as hell.

It goes forward stops and go backwards stop, then again and again and again for about 6 to 7 times. believe me I have patients but it's sure annoys the hack out of me... it's takes about 10 to 20 mins usually.

yeah, i always get stuck behind the stupid train at marina bay! i hate it! why would an over pass take down property value? seems like it would be of benefit.

the condos right next to the train tracks are afraid that if there's a huge overpass right next to their condos, it'll drive down property values.

Yup.. take 23rd. I do that every morning... It's hella bumpy but it's more direct.. central is going back down and up.. takes too much time.

23rd is ghetto.. but it's okay.. as long as I have loud music on and have my seat lean all the way back.. they willl think I am one of them.

There are actually no condos there right now.. beside the train tracks but construction is going on.

Seems like there are some i-club memebers from the area too...

Where you all live? I see this rex in my subdivision but it's always parked there.. haahh

As for a reason why the train does that, there could be many. One is there a freight yard around there? Two the train could be needing a signal in order for it to go. I lived in Newark with Railroad tracks on either side of me. I know all about waiting up to a hour for a train to clear the intersection. All because it's waiting for a another train to clear the tracks ahead of it.

It's not like it's waiting there.. it's has 6 carts. and it's going back and forth then it gets out of the way. It's not changing tracks as I say..
