trailering your STi, uhaul or penske carrier

Need to move some things to my office down in Phoenix and will be bringing the STi down since ill be spending most of my time down there over the next few months.

That said, anyone used a car carrier from uhaul or penske with the stock 04 wheels. Penske says there is an issue, but the idiots from uhaul have no input, one even tried to tell me to use a dolly, F that!, i almost hung up on him.

Anyways feedback is appreciated. I will probly stop by a local office and measure the width of the rails on the trailers just be safe b4 making the reservation.

What is the issue Penske claims? I don't see an issue as long as all 4 wheels are off the ground.

I just went to the penske site. For some stupid reason, their car carrier won't take anything w/ a wheel size larger than 17". I can't see why but here you go:

https://www.pensketruckrental.com/pe...ire_chart.html

Uhaul doesn't seem to have such limits.

Perhaps it's due to the straps they use that go around the tire only fitting up to a 16", if that's the case just use different tie downs.

I used a penske trailer (and I have used a uhaul trailer) to pull my old 02 wrx. It will fit, just look at the over diameter of the largest 16" tire that they show on there and see if it matches or is larger than what yours is. In my experience, there was always plenty of extra slack on the straps that went over the tires to fit something bigger.

Oh, and never rent from uhaul, by far the worst company in the entire world. All their employees are idiots and they have the worst customer service ever and not too mention the crappiest equipment ever. Their stuff should not be allowed on the road. It all sucks. I wish uhaul would burn in hell.

running stock 225 45 17, see no reason why they wont fit if they have a 265 width tires listed on there for 16s

Tell you what, buy me a Southwest return flight for probably less than the cost of renting the trailer, I'll split the gas and deliver the car for you!
