Sup yall! Had my 17 Outback trailer hitch installed by Uhaul. About a week later my check engine light came on. After having the car for a day, and mentioning the error code coming up emissions fault, they are now telling me that the wiring harness installed by Uhaul is the issue.

They say when they unplug the harness, faults go away. Plug it back in, bam, faults again.

Does this sound legit? Thatand aftermarket wiring harness would throw error codes?

I'm going in tomorrow to pick it up. Thanks all.

 

Sounds odd. The trailer wires should only be tied into lighting wires. What code is the cel for?
